Jailbreak iOS 6.1.3 Semi-Untethered
If u are on an ios lower than 6.1.3 then we strongly suggest u not to upgrade to 6.1.3 as it only has a semitethered jailbreak ( meaning u have to connect your iphone/ipad to the computer and do steps 8 and 9 to attain ur jailbreak everytime your idevice turns off. Good thing is ur idevice will still open if it gets turned off but it will not be jailbroken untill u do steps 8 & 9)
Also, dont follow this tutorial if u own a idevice other than iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, or iPod Touch 4G
OK so let's start
U need to download a couple of things to jailbreak
1. redsn0w 0.8.15b3
2. iOS 6.0 firmware
Download it from http://www.felixbruns.de/iPod/
(Yes u need to download 6.0 not 6.1.3 as redsn0w was made for ios 6.0)
So lets begin
1. open redsn0w. On Windows set the compatibility mode to Windows XP Service Pack 2/3 and open it by right clicking and selecting run as administrator.
To do this , right click on redsn0w then
properties>compatibility and check Run This program in compatibility mode for and select windows xp service pack 2
2. Connect ur idevice via USB
3. In redsn0w , go to "Extras" then "Select ipsw" and select the 6.0 firmware u downloaded
4. Click "back" and select "Jailbreak"
5. Hit Continue and make sure “Install Cydia” is checked
6. U can turn off ur idevice and continue with instructions given by redsn0w
7. Once Redsn0w completes close it, your device is now jailbroken but not ready for use.
8. Open redsn0w again , select "extras" then "select ipsw" and select 6.0 firmware
9. Select "just boot" and then follow the process until Redsn0w is finished.
Now your device is jailbroken tethered but we r not done yet
I promised u a semi tethered jailbreak so follow these steps too
(if u dont follow the below steps , ur device wont turn on after it gets switched off untill u connect it to ur pc and follow steps 8 and 9)
10. Open Cydia ( if it asks just select user)
11. go to "manage" then "sources" then "edit" and then "add"
12. Enter the following repository
thebigboss.org/semitether
and select add source. It may take some time but be Patient
13. Open the source , select the semi tether and install it
Congratulations , ur idevice is now semi tethered jailbroken
